Membership Renewal

You will recently have received a notice to renew your NZ Dental & Oral Health Therapists Association membership. Unfortunately, there was a glitch with the website link and information.

Memberships expire at the end of March. In some cases your DHB will pay your fee to us directly. We will advise you in early March whether your DHB is making a direct payment to us.

Conference - Don't miss our great line-up of speakers ...

Dr Jonathan Broadbent

Jonathan, a registered Public Health Dentistry Specialist works at the University of Otago and won the 2012 NZ Dental Association Outstanding Young Dentist of the Year Award.

Community water fluoridation (CWF) is an important dental public health strategy which can benefit an entire population without requiring lifestyle changes. CWF has potential to reduce rates of dental caries and inequalities between population groups. Strong evidence exists for its safety and effectiveness in protecting the teeth of New Zealand children, families, and whanau.

Jonathan's presentation will provide a brief summary of current New Zealand and international research regarding CWF and provide tips for oral health practitioners on differentiating science from pseudoscience.

Study grant

Each year we invite applications for our Post Graduate Study grant.

We're committed to encouraging the promotion of oral health in New Zealand. That's why we make a Study Grant available to a dental or oral health therapist to assist with postgraduate studies or research.

The final date for applications is February 28th with applicants notified by 31st March.

Further information is available here or contact us.

The Dental & Oral Health Therapists Association congratulates all 2013 graduates who have gained registration with the Dental Council and wishes you all the very best for your future career.

We look forward to your continued support of the Association and invite you to attend our Dental Matters conference in Auckland in June. If you have been a student member throughout 2013 you only pay student rate for conference registration – that’s just $295 at the earlybird rate.
